I am currently an Associate Professor with the School of Computer Science and Engineering, Southeast University, China. Before joining SEU, I worked as a research fellow for three years at the University of South Australia. I received my Ph.D. degree from the School of Information Technology and Mathematical Science, University of South Australia, in 2018 and the M.Sc. degree from the Department of Computer Science and Technology, Nanjing University, in 2014. My undergraduate study was also completed at Nanjing University, but in the Department of Mathematics.
Currently, my main research interests are causal inference and machine learning, including topics on causal effect estimation, weakly-supervised learning, and causal representation learning.

Learning causal representation from multi-instance bags significantly improves performances of both MIL and OOD tasks.
Inferencing causality using data from Australia’s largest cultural heritage crowdsourcing platform reveals that the spontaneous trend of volunteer engagements does not always align with the platform’s interest.
I am teaching the following courses at Southeast University, China:
Pattern Recognition, Spring 2022.
I have taught and coordinated several courses at University of South Australia, including:
INFS 5100: Predictive Analytics, 2020.
INFS 5102: Unsupervised Methods in Analytics, 2019.
COMP 4008: Data and Web Mining, 2019-2020 (with Prof. Jiuyong Li).
